These are the rules for using Tarot from me. By creating an account, you agree to them.

Who we are

Tarot from me ("we", "us") is a free, non-commercial project run by [Name], a private individual in [city], Croatia. Contact: [legal@domain]. Languages: English, Croatian.

What Tarot from me is

A platform where artists publish digital showcases of their tarot and oracle decks, and visitors browse the decks, try them in an interactive reader, and follow links to buy them from third-party shops. We do not sell decks. Purchases happen on the artist's chosen shop (Etsy, Kickstarter, their own store, etc.) under that shop's terms.

Free to use

• Tarot from me is free. There are no plans, subscriptions or payments, and we never ask for payment details.
• Founding artists: the first 50 artists to sign up get a Founding artist badge and a feature on the Tarot from me Instagram once their deck listing (the deck's details, at least 5 photos and where to get it) passes our review. Uploading every card is optional.
• If we ever add paid features, we'll email you at least 30 days before. Nothing becomes paid for you without your agreement.

Who can use it

You must be at least 16. If you create an account on behalf of a business, you confirm you're authorized to act for it.

Accounts

There's one type of account. Every member can pull cards, like decks, save favorite art styles and choose newsletter topics. A member becomes an artist by choosing a handle and creating decks. Artists confirm their email address before they can upload.

Card pull limits: without an account, you can pull 3 cards per deck. With an account, you can pull 10 cards per deck per day (resets at midnight, Zagreb time). Browsing all cards in a deck is unlimited.

Keep your login secure. You're responsible for activity on your account. One person or studio per account. Handles must not impersonate others or infringe trademarks.

What belongs here

Tarot, oracle, Lenormand and similar divination or reflection decks, published or in progress, that you made or have the rights to show.

Your content

• You keep all rights to your art, texts, guidebooks and other content ("Your Content").
• You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, resize, format, display and distribute Your Content on Tarot from me, and to use it to promote your deck and Tarot from me (including social media posts such as the founding artist Instagram feature, newsletters and preview images for shared links). The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for promotional posts already published and shared card pulls, which we remove within 30 days of your request.
• You confirm that you own or have all rights to Your Content, and that it doesn't infringe anyone's rights or break the law.

No AI art (zero tolerance)

Generative AI images are not allowed anywhere on Tarot from me: not in deck photos, cards, card backs, covers, banners or avatars. This includes Midjourney, DALL·E, Stable Diffusion, Adobe Firefly, Photoshop Generative Fill/Expand and AI upscalers that add detail. Non-generative tools (drawing apps, scanning, color correction, layout) are fine.

• When you submit a deck, you confirm that no generative AI was used.
• Every deck is checked by a person before it goes public, and so is every card you add or replace later.
• If we're unsure, we'll ask you for process evidence (sketches, line art, layered files, timelapses, WIP photos) and give you 14 days.
• If we confirm AI art, your account is suspended immediately, all your content is removed from public view, and the account is deleted after 30 days. The email address, handle and shop and social links you used are permanently banned from creating a new account; we store them only as irreversible keyed hashes.
• You'll get an email explaining the decision, and you can contest it within 14 days by replying with evidence. If you succeed, we restore your account and lift the ban.

Copyright and trademarks

• Only upload art and text you created or have licensed.
• Rider-Waite-Smith-based decks: Pamela Colman Smith's 1909 art is in the public domain. The 1971 recolored edition by U.S. Games Systems is copyrighted. Don't scan, trace or recolor it. "Rider-Waite" is a registered trademark, so describe your deck as "RWS-based" or "in the Smith-Waite tradition".
• No fan art of copyrighted characters or brands in decks you sell or promote unless you have a license.
• Three upheld copyright notices end an account.

Not allowed

• Illegal content of any kind, including anything sexualizing minors (removed immediately and reported)
• Hate or harassment targeting people for protected characteristics
• Content that incites violence or self-harm
• Explicit sexual content on a deck's main photo, cover cards or the card back
• Spam, fake decks, misleading links, or buy links to shops that aren't yours without permission
• Impersonating another artist or publisher
• Collecting visitors' personal data through the deck pages

Artistic nudity is common in tarot art and is allowed.

Buy links

Buy links go through our redirect so we can show you click statistics. We don't earn commissions on your buy links. If we ever introduce affiliate or commission-based features, we'll update this policy and notify you at least 15 days in advance.

How we rank decks

Discover and the home page order decks by recency, engagement (views, card pulls, likes, shares), completeness of the deck page, filters the visitor chose and editorial "Staff picks". No one can pay to be ranked higher.

Reporting and moderation

• Anyone can report content by emailing [legal@domain].
• New decks and new or changed card images are reviewed by a person before they become public, usually within 3 days.
• We may remove content, delist it, restrict features or suspend an account if content is illegal or breaks this policy. We don't use automated moderation to make these decisions.
• When we act on your content, we email you a statement of reasons: what we did, why, the facts, and how to contest the decision.
• Contesting: reply to the statement of reasons or write to [legal@domain] within 6 months.
• Termination by us: we give 30 days' notice before closing an account, except where we must act immediately because of a legal obligation, illegal content or repeated serious breaches.

Readings disclaimer

Card pulls are random. Readings and card meanings are for reflection and entertainment and are not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice.

Liability

We provide the platform "as is". Nothing in this policy limits liability for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body or health, or consumer rights that can't be waived. Because the service is free, we are otherwise not liable for damages, as far as the law allows.

Changes

We'll notify artists by email at least 15 days before changes take effect. If you don't agree, you can close your account before the effective date.

Ending your account

You can ask us to delete your account anytime. Your public pages disappear immediately, and backups are purged within 30 days.

Law and disputes

Croatian law applies. If you're a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
